Antique Tribal Shekarlu Rug 1.97m x 1.26m
A wonderful antique tribal rug woven by the Shekarlu tribe circa 1900. The Shekarlu are a small sub tribe of the Qashqai, known for their association to the sugar trade (Shekar is sugar in Farsi). Their rugs are quite distinctive from other Qashqai weaving and increasingly difficult to find. The border is classic Shekarlu (and almost identical to the rug that Sigmund Freud had on his couch!) along with the distinctive diagonal comb motifs on the field.

Size: 1.97m x 1.26m (6ft 6in x 4ft 2in)
This rug has light, age related wear, slightly heavier in a couple of areas (see photos). A few old repairs, sympathetically done (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.

To put it simply, I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your rug, please return it to me in it's original condition within 14 days for a full refund.
As well as the descriptions, age and where they were made, all my antique rugs have a brief condition report. I mention things like wear, what the fringes and edges look like and any issues like repairs, usually with photos. Occasionally, I may miss something (like a small well done repair). If you notice something and this bothers you, please feel free to send it back to me for a full refund.
