An exceptional silk Turkish rug, handwoven in Hereke (about 60 kms south-east from Istanbul) circa 1980. This rug features an all over floral design on a soft beige field and fabulous secondary colours of red, green and gold. Very finely woven with 10x10 knots per cm (the rug has a total of approximately 750,000 individually tied knots!) woven on a silk foundation.
Size: 1.09m x 0.68m (3ft 7in x 42ft 3in)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear. Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
