Antique Lors Chanteh 0.41m x 0.36m
Antique Lors Chanteh 0.41m x 0.36m
A beautiful antique Chanteh woven by the nomadic Lors tribe circa 1900. It is piled on both sides with 2 different designs - on one side is a stylised tree of life and on the other, 3 medallions surrounded by a couple of peacocks and either goats or dogs. Interestingly, one side appears upside down which suggests that the weaver hadn't quite thought the finished design through! These small vanity bags were woven by the women of the tribe and would have been used to keep valuable items such as jewellery or money. These antique Chantehs have become very hard to find and are highly collectible.
Size: 0.41m x 0.36m (1ft 4in x 1ft 2in)
