Vintage Chinese Silk Carpet 2.43m x 1.59m
An unusual vintage silk carpet, hand woven in China circa 1950 with a floral Aubusson design on a lemon field and eye catching secondary colours. Note the interesting plaited gold silk fringes. This carpet would have predated the commercial weavings of the 1980s and 1990s that have similar designs.

This carpet is in good original condition with light, age-related wear. Fringes and selvedges are original and secure and it has been professionally cleaned.

As well as the descriptions, age and where they were made, all my antique rugs have a brief condition report. I mention things like wear, what the fringes and edges look like and any issues like repairs, usually with photos. Occasionally, I may miss something (like a small well done repair). If you notice something and this bothers you, please feel free to send it back to me for a full refund.
