Antique Kurdish Chanteh 0.39m x 0.34m
Antique Kurdish Chanteh 0.39m x 0.34m
A lovely antique Chanteh woven by nomadic Kurds circa 1880 with a woven pile front and kilim back. The front features an allover chevron design in pinks and blues. These small vanity bags were woven by the women of the tribe and would have been used to keep valuable items such as jewellery or money. These antique Chantehs have become very hard to find and are highly collectible.
Size: 0.39m x 0.34m (1ft 3in x 1ft 1in)
The front of the bag shows some wear, particularly at the bottom with some knots missing in the corners and a small section in the centre. The kilim on the back is fraying slightly at the bottom. See photos.

Returns Policy
To put it simply, I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your rug, please return it to me in it's original condition within 14 days for a full refund.
As well as the descriptions, age and where they were made, all my antique rugs have a brief condition report. I mention things like wear, what the fringes and edges look like and any issues like repairs, usually with photos. Occasionally, I may miss something (like a small well done repair). If you notice something and this bothers you, please feel free to send it back to me for a full refund.
Actually, even if you don’t find anything and you’re just not 100% sure you like it, send it back for a full refund. Or we can find something even more awesome.
