Vintage Turkish Silk Kayseri Rug 2.14m x 1.39m
A wonderful vintage silk rug, woven in Kayseri, Turkey probably in the 3rd quarter of the 20th Century. The rug features an allover floral design with lions and deer on a soft beige, almost pink field. Finely woven with 6 knots per centimetre giving the rug approximately 1 million knots. Full silk pile on a silk foundation with some lovely secondary colours of gold and ochre. And it’s in an unusually large size for this type of rug.
Size: 2.14m x 1.39m (7ft x 4ft 7in)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, slightly heavier (but barely noticeable) in a band across the lower centre (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.

To put it simply, I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your rug, please return it to me in it's original condition within 14 days for a full refund.
As well as the descriptions, age and where they were made, all my antique rugs have a brief condition report. I mention things like wear, what the fringes and edges look like and any issues like repairs, usually with photos. Occasionally, I may miss something (like a small well done repair). If you notice something and this bothers you, please feel free to send it back to me for a full refund.
