Vintage Turkish Silk Hereke Rug 1.55m x 1.12m
An exceptional silk Turkish rug, handwoven in Hereke (about 60 kms south-east from Istanbul) circa 1980 with an all over floral design on a soft blue field and fabulous secondary colours of pink, red green and gold. very finely woven with 10x10 knots per cm woven on a silk foundation.
Size: 1.55m x 1.12m (5ft 1in x 3ft 8in)
This rug is in excellent original condition with minimal wear. The original colour, visible on the back, has faded to a soft blue (see photos). The fringes and selvedges are original and secure and it has been professionally cleaned.

As well as the descriptions, age and where they were made, all my antique rugs have a brief condition report. I mention things like wear, what the fringes and edges look like and any issues like repairs, usually with photos. Occasionally, I may miss something (like a small well done repair). If you notice something and this bothers you, please feel free to send it back to me for a full refund.
