A fabulous antique runner woven in the south of the Caucasus mountains in modern day Azerbaijan circa 1900. This runner features an all over design of diagonal stripes with stylised shrubs. Some fabulous secondary colours of reds, blues and golds and a particularly wonderful purple.
Size: 3.28m x 0.86m (10ft 9in x 2ft 10in)
This runner is in good condition with light, age related wear, slightly heavier in a couple of small places (see photos). Two old repairs to the sides which I suspect was made to straighten this piece - very well done & barely noticeable (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
